Achievements
- For the three agroclimatic zones viz., .
Central plains, Southweast semi-arid and Bundelkhand regions,
detailed information on area, production, soil type, cropping
pattern, emerging cropping systems and constraints to crop growth
were
compiled.
- Monthly rainfall for the period 1967-1997 and
seasonal rainfall for the three years
(1995-1997) were analysed to quantify the distribution
characteristics.
- Rice, blackgram, wheat and mustard crops were
raised in field experiments. Thermal time corresponding to the
different phenological stages were computed. Branching pattern,
crop height, partitioning of dry matter in crops sown on
different dates within the season were recorded and analysed.
